Dr. Festus Uriah Elleh was born in Egbormung in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His native language is Obolo, a language spoken by the Andoni people. Dr. Festus Elleh completed his Primary Education at Unyeada in 1978 and his High School Education at Ngo in 1983. Dr. Elleh proceeded to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Business Education in 1990 and Master’s degree (MBA) in 1995 at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt. After his MBA, Dr. Elleh joined the School of Business at Ignatius Ajuru University, as a Lecturer in 1995, a job he held till May 1998 when he migrated to the United States. In the United States, Dr. Elleh went back for another Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information System at DeVry University, Irving Texas. Later, proceeded to complete his PhD in Information Technology with specialization in Project Management at Capella University, Minneapolis Minnesota in September, 2013. In July, 2020, Dr. Elleh obtained his Verified Certificate in Cybersecurity with emphasis on Critical Urban Infrastructure from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Elleh is working on his professional certificate in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer science at Harvard University. Dr. Elleh has also obtained two professional certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). He is a prolific writer and author.
Dr. Elleh started his career in the United States with American Airlines where he worked from 1999 – 2016, about seventeen years, in various positions including Operational Supervisor, Computer Programmer, Sr. Project Manager, and Manager ITPMO. He later became an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Parker University, Dallas TX, a Visiting Professor at DeVry University, Irving TX., and a Professor of Data Science at Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also the CEO of a non-profit organization – Global Initiative for Rural Development. He is a husband and a dad and has been living in the DFW area Texas for many years. At his spare time, he loves to play chess and soccer. Also, loves traveling, reading, and volunteering for community development initiatives.
